What You Will Do The Manager Trainee is a full‑time, entry‑level position that prepares you for a management role within 84 Lumber. You will learn through classroom, online, and hands‑on training across sales, operations, inventory, estimation, forklift operation, and business management. After 6–12 months, you may be promoted to a managerial position, potentially increasing your pay by up to 40 %.
No experience is required to begin your career. Just bring dedication and a willingness to learn.
Through a structured training plan you will learn:
Sales and Customer Service: Support customers and drive sales in a retail store environment.
Store Operations and Inventory Management: Oversee material/supply chain flow, stock, and merchandising.
Blueprint Reading and Estimation: Create material estimates for building projects.
Forklift Operation and Certification: Safe handling of materials and equipment.
Business Management: Payroll, invoicing, inventory, and financial analysis.
Microsoft Office Suite: Enhance your skills through comprehensive training.
Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment You will work in both indoor and outdoor settings, assisting customers in all weather conditions. The role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 80 pounds, and other physical activities. You may work around machinery and airborne particles.
Compensation $48,000–$53,000 per year (based on hourly rate, overtime, and incentives). 48‑hour work week, Monday‑Friday with some Saturdays.
