Technical Sales Representative - Marine Construction
Measutronics, now part of the Duncan-Parnell family of companies, is hiring a Technical Sales Representative for the Marine Construction vertical. This role reports to the Sales Manager and performs pre-sales support and training within the Measutronics distribution territory in the Southeast. The position is part of a consultative sales team focused on customer satisfaction. The successful candidate combines technical knowledge with sales skills to respond effectively to client inquiries.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary source of pre-sales support and training for the Measutronics Marine Construction vertical
Prepare and provide technical sales demonstrations as requested
Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other events
Understand, anticipate, and meet customer requirements through direct client interactions
Assist clients in selecting products or services that meet their needs in terms of functionality, quality, price and delivery
Collaborate with the Measutronics team to deliver the right solution
Prepare accurate client quotations in a timely manner
Negotiate solutions and contract terms to satisfy both client and company needs
Travel to visit potential clients as directed
Provide accurate monthly sales forecasts and regularly meet sales targets
Record and maintain client contact data and interactions
Assist in coordinating sales projects and communicate with sales and technical support teams to resolve client problems
Maintain strong customer relations and satisfaction; proactively resolve customer issues
Contribute to improving sales results and product/service offerings
Monitor trends to aid in daily operations
Qualifications / Skills
Direct industry experience in construction and machine control technology
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Proven ability to achieve sales results
Ability to set priorities for short and long-term objectives
Integrity and good character; sense of urgency
Willingness to commit to the job and make personal sacrifices when needed
Adaptability to modify behavior/approach in different situations
Desire to learn from others and listen well
Ability to make strategic decisions and work with motivation and interpersonal skills
Analytical capability to understand complex issues and consequences
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
Extensive surveying and construction experience in Marine Construction, Civil Construction, and commercial site development
Experience with advanced grading, 3D modeling, CAD (AutoCAD, MicroStation or Terramodel)
Experience selling Machine Control systems is a plus (Topcon, Leica, Trimble)
Machine Control training experience is a plus
Local Requirements
Strong command of written and verbal English
Bi-lingual English and Spanish a plus
