Texas Oncology is looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team! This position will support the Marble Falls location (104 Max Starke Dam Rd Marble Falls, Texas 78654). Typical work week is Monday‑Friday 8:15 am‑4:45 pm with no weekends or major holidays.
This position can be a Level 1, Level 2, or Senior based on candidate experience.

What Does the Phlebotomist Do?
Under direct supervision, the Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and processing specimens from patients, following quality assurance and safety policies, assisting with patient flow, properly identifying patients, drawing blood samples, sending specimens to the laboratory, maintaining collection areas and equipment, and performing record‑keeping duties.

Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy and collect appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
- Assure pre‑authorizations and complete appropriate consent (ABN) prior to collection of limited coverage tests.
- Maintain proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program, including accessioning logs, equipment records, and check‑lists.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and ensure all supplies are viable before use.
- Send specimens to reference laboratories for any testing not performed in house.
- Process incoming orders for lab testing.
- Process in‑house and incoming reports.
- Update and file all daily paperwork, lab logs, and maintenance logs.
- Properly identify and band patients for blood product transfusion and process labeled specimens according to local bloodbank policy.
- Operate designated laboratory equipment as directed.
- Use equipment effectively, skillfully, and efficiently while maintaining equipment and work area as directed.
- Perform waived lab testing under CLIA guidelines for personnel, recording proper lot numbers of all controls, calibrators, and reagents for waived lab tests.
- Comply with regulatory agency standards, adhering to all OSHA compliance laws and universal precaution procedures.
- Properly dispose of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean working environment and restock the phlebotomy and laboratory area as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality for all information related to patients and medical staff.
Qualifications
- Position is entry level and requires no experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy recommended.
- Current state licensure if applicable.
Level 2 Requirements (in addition to Level 1)
- Position requires three years of experience.
Level Senior Requirements (in addition to Level 1 and Level 2)
- Position requires five or more years of experience.
Physical Demands
Physical demands include full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination in operation and manipulation of complex laboratory equipment. Requires sitting/standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying items up to 40 lb, corrected vision, color perception, hearing to normal range, and legible handwriting.
Work Environment
Regular exposure to direct contact with patients, potential blood/body fluids, chemotherapeutic agents, or transmissible infections. Direct contact with corrosive chemicals, infectious agents, handling glassware, and needles is common.
