Wevise is a nonprofit on a mission to break down barriers in tech. Through direct programming and partnerships with nonprofits supporting underserved and disadvantaged people to enter and advance in the technology industry, we provide access to mentors, training and educational opportunities, and careers.
Commitment Minimum one-year term, 15–20 hours per week

Position Summary Wevise is seeking a visionary, charismatic volunteer CEO to serve as the face and voice of our movement, leading with purpose, urgency, and a clear mandate to fund our future. This is a high‑impact, part‑time role that requires a minimum one‑year commitment of 15–20 hours per week, ideal for a leader ready to drive growth and increase visibility. The CEO will act as a chief fundraiser, strategic builder, and evangelist, committed to securing six‑figure annual funding while rallying community, board, and philanthropic support. You will lead a lean, all‑volunteer team while laying the foundation for a future paid executive transition.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development (Primary Focus – 60%)
Build and execute a dynamic, multi‑channel fundraising strategy targeting individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors, leveraging storytelling, relationships, and board collaboration.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, funders, and grantmakers.
Visibility & Advocacy (20%)
Serve as Chief Evangelist, a compelling spokesperson representing Wevise at conferences, media interviews, public forums, and fundraising events.
Build strategic partnerships with tech companies, diversity advocates, and philanthropic leaders to amplify our mission.
Represent Wevise across digital platforms, including public messaging, press outreach, and thought leadership.
Strategic & Organizational Leadership (20%)
Guide the execution of the strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Directors and senior leadership team.
Uphold legal and ethical standards for 501(c)(3) governance and reporting.
Champion a future vision that includes growth toward a paid structure.
Qualifications
Proven track record of building relationships that lead to sales, or experience with nonprofit or cause‑based fundraising, with demonstrated success securing major gifts or six‑figure support.
Passionate about equity in tech, inclusive mentorship, and digital empowerment.
Bold communicator with public speaking, media, or advocacy experience.
Self‑starter comfortable building and leading in a lean, fast‑paced, resource‑constrained environment.
Required experience in a nonprofit as a volunteer or other role. Strongly desired experience with leading volunteers.
Structure & Future Path
This is a volunteer executive role with a minimum one‑year term.
Requires 15–20 hours per week with flexibility based on fundraising and visibility demands.
Remote‑first; in‑person engagement encouraged for select donor or media events.
This role is intended to evolve into a paid executive leadership position as Wevise scales.
