Job Title Endocrinologist - Southwest Michigan

Location Bronson Battle Creek, Battle Creek, MI

Position Summary Bronson HealthCare Group is seeking a BC/BE Endocrinologist to join our team of 2 Endocrinologists and 4 APPs in our Diabetes and Endocrinology Center. The position involves seeing adult outpatients only for screenings, diagnoses, and assessments. The center has experienced staff and diabetes educators, as well as the medical director and nurse practitioners. Located within the center is a large dedicated classroom, insulin pump training and ultrasound procedure rooms. Centralized nurse triage handles after hour calls; provider calls are minimal.

Responsibilities

Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating clinical patients to meet their medical needs.

Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources.

Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs.

Determines level of urgency of follow‑up, referral or consultation appointments.

Exercises final medical judgment in all health care issues.

Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.

Orders studies, tests and ancillary services.

Documents all services in the patient medical record.

Reviews long‑term cases that require ongoing medical attention on a regular basis.

Consults with the Medical Director and other staff regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.

Participates in process improvement, management, continuing education and other patient‑care programs established by the hospital or clinic.

Oversees mid‑level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned.

Assists in resolving complaints, requests and inquiries from patients.

Maintains confidentiality of patient information according to federal guidelines.

Demonstrates commitment to outstanding customer service reflecting the mission, values and service standards.

Qualifications

Medical degree and 2 years of direct or internship experience required.

Current Medical License in the state of Michigan.

Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.

Maintains all requirements for medical staff privileges.

Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.

Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with proper telephone etiquette.

Performs in a tactful and professional manner.

Schedule Shift: First Shift Employment type: Part‑time Scheduled weekly hours: 24
