Endocrinologist - Southwest Michigan at Bronson Healthcare. Employed position with Bronson Methodist Hospital, a tertiary hospital serving a ten-county population. Located in Battle Creek, MI. Position involves seeing adult outpatients for screenings, diagnoses and assessments as part of the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center with experienced staff, diabetes educators, a medical director and nurse practitioners. Bronson HealthCare Group is seeking a BC/BE Endocrinologist to join our team of 2 Endocrinologists and 4 APPs. Opportunity for faculty appointments exists with Western Michigan University School of Medicine. Centralized nurse triage handles after-hours calls; provider calls are shared equally by providers. Provide medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating clinical patients to meet medical needs Educate patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families Determine which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs Determine level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments Exercise final medical judgment in all issues of health care Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients Order studies, tests and ancillary services Document all services in patient medical records Review long-term cases that require ongoing medical attention Consult with Medical Director and other professionals on staff regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues Participate in process improvement, continuing education and other patient care programs Oversee mid-level medical staff as assigned, as well as nursing clinical staff Assist in resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service aligned with mission and values Qualifications

Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required Current Medical License in the state of Michigan Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette Performs in a tactful and professional manner Shift
