Manufacturing Engineering Resource Planner IV
Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, the Mfg. Eng. Resource Planner IV serves as a subject matter expert responsible for administering effective allocation of manufacturing resources for process planning creation and maintenance. The role supports BOM consumption, Computer Aided Planning (CAP) routing creation, and manufacturing items orders for manufacturing operations in Bell business systems. When a Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) model exists, the planner is responsible for creating and maintaining manufacturing instructions (drawings & modeling). The planner must have knowledge of shop production and processing operations, work in accordance with management strategies and departmental processes using Bell Business Systems, and may direct, mentor and train one or more employees.
Responsibilities
Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures.
Accurate BOM management and consumption for manufacturing operations.
Create and maintain proper work sequence documentation and CAP routings.
Create manufacturing items orders/requests (e.g., NC Programs, Tools/Fixtures, Gages).
Provide process planning support to manufacturing operations through order maintenance, tool maintenance requests, and various planning liaison functions.
Create and maintain applicable dimensional charts, manufacturing instructions (text based and 2D/3D format), material operation diagrams, and ply tables.
When an MCAD model exists, maintain manufacturing instructions (drawings & modeling).
Apply knowledge of Loft, Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing and Planning processes and procedures.
Support GD&T/Aerospace tolerances and producibility assessments.
Maintain records and schedules of work assigned, meeting cost control, schedule and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.
Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and provide training, direction, instruction, and validation to Production Engineering work.
Attend training and complete competency-based testing as required to remain current with technological advancements.
Educational Requirements Four (4) years college or six (6) years experience in the aircraft industry. Demonstrated capability in GD&T/Aerospace tolerances, technical writing, and use of planning and CAD software, including Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP, tool design repositories, and CAD. Preferred experience in composite or metallic material manufacturing, machined parts. Must have strong communication skills.
