The
Senior Accounting Manager
is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role will manage the accounting team, coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing processes, and lead audits and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Lead and manage the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff; provide performance feedback and development opportunities.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with financial planning teams.
Evaluate accounting systems and procedures, recommending improvements where necessary.
Assist with special projects, mergers and acquisitions, and financial analysis as required.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and applicable accounting regulations.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ( Master’s degree or CPA preferred )
Experience
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2‑3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Experience in public accounting and/or corporate finance is preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
Skills
Strong knowledge of GAAP (and/or IFRS)
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
Strong leadership and communication abilities
Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills
