Job Description Employee will be required to work independently, without direct supervision, under rigorous working conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the set‑up and breakdown of catering events.
Ability to work independently at catering events.
Responsible for the safe and proper return of catering equipment following events.
Inventory supplies and equipment; report discrepancies to management in a timely manner.
Complete full service and delivery load lists for following day.
Complete all inventories; to include paper goods, linens, porcelain and glass.
Ensure appropriate storage and maintenance of all equipment and supplies; update and maintain the orderly appearance of these storage areas.
Assist in loading and unloading company vehicles with supplies and equipment for events.
Receive pick‑ups from food areas for delivery back to catering “Cage” or other locations.
Load and unload catering vehicles.
Assist in stocking products delivered.
Must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED; plus at least six months of experience in food service/retail operations or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal skills, self‑motivation, organization skills and ability to multi‑task.
Food Handler certificate from the County of San Diego preferred.
Valid driver’s license required if operating company vehicle or golf cart; no more than three moving violations or accidents in the past 12 months.
Applicant must be at least 18 years old and provide proof of driving eligibility upon hire.
Minimum Qualifications
English reading, writing, and understanding; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Common‑sense reasoning; multi‑tasking, prioritization, attention to detail.
Manual dexterity with computer and food service equipment.
Physical ability to stand for prolonged hours; move, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds.
Basic understanding of company vehicle operations; handle objects, cooking tools, controls.
Working Conditions and Hazards Work regularly performed in a food production area that may be dimly lit with wet/humid conditions. Exposure to food fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, cleaning chemicals; occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and gases. Work may be outdoors with varying weather, dust and allergens. Noise levels may be significant.
