Overview
The HVAC Technician II is a position in the Facilities Management department that requires significant experience in HVAC maintenance, repair, or installation. The role may involve pursuing formal licensure or a formal apprenticeship. In addition to HVAC duties, the technician may be required to perform other maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or assisting with other projects.
Shift:
Mon to Fri 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Location:
Intermountain Health Primary Childrens Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah
Responsibilities
Responsible for the maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Performs routine to moderately complex maintenance and inspections, diagnosing and repairing issues, ensuring all systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
Work with a variety of systems and equipment, including boilers, chillers, air handlers, and control systems.
Works with little supervision or with minimal support from outside contractors.
Qualifications
Experience as an HVAC technician.
Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above.
A valid driver license may be required for this position.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a healthcare setting
Physical and Other Requirements
Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication of alarms, needs, and issues.
Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment; includes frequent computer, phone, and cable setup and use.
Ability to lift and move equipment; may involve work on hands and knees, bending, and carrying supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
Ability to drive a vehicle if the role requires driving; includes reading traffic signs and signals.
Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
Use of hand and power tools with appropriate safety protection.
Exposure to extreme temperatures, noisy or constricted spaces, odors and smells.
Compensation and Benefits The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate depends on experience.
Hourly range:
$28.09 - $42.74
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
