Major, Lindsey & Africa has an immediate need for an Interim Commercial Real Estate Attorney.
Overview Our client is looking for an Interim Commercial Real Estate Attorney.

International Firm with 17 Offices Globally.
Location:
Hybrid NYC.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end execution of complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings (e.g., acquisition, bridge, construction, mezzanine loans).
Review and resolve title and survey issues; coordinate with title companies and counsel to ensure clear title.
Negotiate and draft leases, joint venture agreements, and ancillary real estate documents (e.g., property management, brokerage, SNDAs).
Lead due diligence efforts across zoning, environmental, and land use matters.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align legal strategy with business goals.
Provide legal guidance on portfolio management, compliance, and risk mitigation.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years’ experience handling complex commercial real estate transactions from inception through closing, including:
Acquisitions and dispositions
Title and survey review and resolution
Commercial leasing (office, retail, industrial)
Joint ventures and equity structuring
Drafting and negotiating real estate-related agreements (e.g., property management, brokerage, SNDAs, estoppels)
Strong understanding of New York real estate law, including regulatory and compliance matters
Proven ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously under tight deadlines
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skillsExperience collaborating with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, lenders, brokers, and title companies
Ability to assess risk and provide strategic legal guidance aligned with business objectives
Familiarity with real estate due diligence processes, including environmental, zoning, and land use considerations
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
