Industrial Project Engineer Actalent is seeking an Industrial Project Engineer to collaborate closely with the Project Manager and lead the engineering work process for delivering industrial solution projects. The role involves supporting project development during the sales phase and ensuring a seamless technical transition to project delivery. Responsibilities include documenting and communicating all project requirements to stakeholders through design basis documents, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, and critical client and regulatory requirements. The Project Engineer reports to the Manager of Project & Process Engineering and ensures adherence to the Engineering Workflow for stage gates and reviews while accurately forecasting work hours and managing schedule adherence.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage changes to project definition documents, including design basis, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.

Lead coordination of engineering efforts, facilitating communication among process, mechanical, and automation engineering teams and external vendors and engineering firms.

Manage workflow to comply with organizational design processes, review gates, and procedures.

Ensure designs comply with industrial codes and regulations.

Forecast engineering labor for assigned projects and manage work to achieve schedule adherence.

Implement a structured approach to issue tracking and resolution.

Contribute to the resolution of complex engineering issues.

Support hazard assessments and hazard mitigation efforts.

Oversee Work Package Management, including in‑house and outsourced scope of work generation and work product review.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives for engineering processes.

Essential Skills

Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

5+ years of experience designing and managing industrial projects.

Experience commissioning capital expenditure projects from cradle to grave.

Experience in manufacturing methods and design within sheet metal, machining, or fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

CFD & FEA.

Root Cause & process development.

PE or PMP Certification.

Job Type & Location Contract to Hire, based out of Columbus, Ohio.

Pay And Benefits Pay range: $48.08 - $57.69 per hour.
