Building Location: Essentia Health - Mid Dakota Women's Center - Bismarck Department: 3691430 OB AND GYNECOLOGY - MDB WOMENS Job Description: Seeking a surgical technologist or surgical technologist first assist to serve at Essentia Health's Mid Dakota Women's Center in Bismarck, North Dakota. This CST or CSFA works 40 hours weekly. This position requires specific education and certifications. Please verify you meet these criteria before applying. On-call rotations are required: three nights a week for c-sections and urgent OBGYN surgeries, every 4th weekend, and up to two holidays per year.
Responsibilities
Surgical Technologist
(CST) – Functions under the supervision of an RN in providing technical interventions in the Operating Room to patients of all ages. Responsible for tasks related to instrumentation, equipment, prosthesis, and supplies. May perform other duties as assigned by the department.
Surgical Technologist First Assist
(CSFA) – Provides assistance to the surgeon to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure. Assists with exposure, hemostasis, suturing, dressing and other duties as delegated. May also work as a Surgical Technologist.
On-call rotations: three nights per week for c-sections and urgent OBGYN surgeries; every 4th weekend; up to two holidays per year.
Education and Qualifications
Education Qualifications: Graduate of a surgical assisting program accredited through ARC-STSA and recognized by CAAHEP, OR graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology with certification as a surgical assistant by the NBSTSA.
Licensure and Certification
Unlicensed assistive person (UAP) with the state of North Dakota within 3 months of hire.
Appropriate certification by the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting).
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month of hire.
Shift, Schedule, and Compensation
FTE: 1
Shift Rotation: Day Rotation
Shift Start Time: 7:00 am
Shift End Time: 3:00 pm
Weekends: Yes
Holidays: Yes
Call Obligation: Yes
Compensation Range: $25.69 - $38.54 per hour (based on experience)
