Entry Level and Associate Structural Design Engineers (Level 1 and Level 2)
to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma . Position Responsibilities
Level 1 Assists with documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Assists with development, maintenance and modification of payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Assists with tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Assists with management of supplier development, test and production activities to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Works under close supervision. Level 2 Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works under general supervision. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences) Exposure to mechanical and/or structural design Exposure to creating, executing, reviewing, and managing structural design models Exposure to working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables Exposure to reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications Exposure to in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX) Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Active U.S. Secret Clearance Experience validating or verifying structural models Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures, secondary structures, interior payloads UPR/MRB experience in commercial derivative platforms Experience with analytical, communication and problem-solving skills Location & Work Type
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
