The Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on flight school aircraft, ensuring all work follows AeroGuard Company procedures, FAA regulations, and applicable Title 14 parts 43 and 91 requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of flight school aircraft.
Read and interpret maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, engineering drawings, service bulletins and airworthiness directives.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work flexible shifts, including all shifts as needed.
Education & Licenses
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required at the time of hire.
Must obtain Inspection Authorization within three months of hire.
Experience
Minimum of three consecutive years as a certificated A&P, preferably in General Aviation.
Experience on Piper aircraft is preferred.
G1000 experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Independent worker capable of making airworthiness decisions.
Strong communication skills (written and oral).
Team‐building and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn the Talon RMS maintenance program.
Ability to manage workflow, adjust priorities, and troubleshoot, repair, inspect and maintain aircraft per FAA regulations.
Equipment & Machinery Used
General office equipment such as facsimile, copier and personal computer.
Company vehicles: van, truck, golf cart, aircraft as required.
Various shop equipment and tools.
Exposure to solvents, aviation gasoline, etc.
Physical & Safety Requirements
Work in varied indoor and outdoor environments.
Extensive exposure to aircraft, simulators and outdoor conditions.
Medium lifting up to 50 lbs.
May require prolonged periods sitting or standing, bending and stooping.
Salary $30.00 - $41.00 per hour
