Quality Assurance Engineer IT Hybrid position within 35 miles of Cleveland, OH or Buffalo, NY. 2 submittals per supplier.

Essential Job Functions

System integration testing

Regular regression testing of system functions – collaboration with multiple engineers, testers, QA teams inside and outside the department

Test data harvesting and management

Detailed organization and managing of disparate systems that interface or have various complex timing, data dependencies or batch executions

Translate design, UX, requirements into actionable test cases that can be executed, document how to execute them, prerequisites and test conditions

Define and mockup both positive and negative scenarios, as well as work on edge case testing

Work well in fast‑paced environment

Excellent communication skills written and verbal

Estimate efforts, inclusive of unknowns and ambiguity; lead the QA team for a project and be accountable for all activities conducted to ensure quality

Oversee quality in all phases of the project including requirement review, test script preparation, and test execution and recap

Identify gaps and confusions in the user interface and/or workflow, highlight risks associated with technical debt, schedule slippage or other concerns

Schedule resources, estimate QA portion of project estimates and forecasts, manage testing needs with Shared Services, manage the PLC tollgates, calculate and manage traceability and test coverage, assist with test result triage, report on overall application/project health and intervene when appropriate with remediation efforts

Create a collaborative partnership with the Tech Lead, PM, BAs and other participants; engage in grooming sessions, status meetings and other project meetings; valued as a thought leader contributing to the final product

Manage the human capital for a specific effort

Required Qualifications Education/Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required

Experience

Moderate QA experience with solid organizational skills and basic knowledge of QA practices and methods

Understands test automation coverage and guides exploratory testers to fill gaps

Base understanding of an application domain, release schedule, user community, and can work with other team members to drive delivery

Understand how to assess an application’s functionality by risk, impact and importance to prioritize test execution and coverage

Test Automation Selenium/WebDriver scripting experience a plus

3 to 5 years or more in QA testing role(s) preferred

Experience in Agile team

Competencies and Skills

Leverage resources to identify opportunities for automation, service virtualization and other shared services offered by QA

Good communication skills

Lead in all phases of the project and communicate status and risks of the effort in detail

Highly proficient in Jira or similar tools like Azure Dev Ops

Experience with XRAY (Jira test case tool) a plus

Experience with requirements tracked in Confluence
