The position will give you the chance to apply academic knowledge to real‑world projects involving site characterization; design and construction; earth retaining structures; deep and soft/weak foundations; dams and water containment structures; forensic investigations and litigation support; geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; numerical analysis of stability and deformation; and geohazard/earthquake characterization, mitigation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting geotechnical field investigations
Monitoring heavy civil construction projects
Performing and reviewing engineering calculations
Earthquake engineering
Dam and levee evaluations, design, and permitting
Developing construction documents
Writing and reviewing engineering reports
Driving personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Education and Licensure
Bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering (required)
Advanced degree in the same field (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
At least 2 years of work experience in engineering consulting or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting (preferred)
Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS (preferred)
Regular field work and overnight travel (required)
Health & safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing (required)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. New H‑1B visa lottery and employment‑based green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
Salary
Minimum Salary: $64,485/year / Maximum Salary: $80,605/year (Broomfield, CO)
Minimum Salary: $70,625/year / Maximum Salary: $88,280/year (Davis, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Los Angeles, CA)
Minimum: $32.47/hour / Maximum: $37.48/hour or Minimum: $77,968.80/year / Maximum: $84,445/year (Seattle, WA)
