LSSI is hiring a full-time Senior Director, Behavioral Health Services. Supervise the daily operations and delivery of mental health and substance use services in rural/Western Illinois, including the Sterling program site and the Prisoner and Family Ministry Program (PFM). Provide direct supervision to staff, including administrative and clinical staff. Ensure compliance with various regulatory and funding entities, meet productivity, census, and outcome measures for mental health and substance use programs, and serve as liaison between programs and AED.

Essential Functions

Facilitate weekly clinical staffing and provide direct supervision, training, and support to program staff (Sterling, PFM and assigned expansion programs), including administrative staff, Counselors, Peers, and others.

Responsible for monitoring funding opportunities, quality measures and reports for PFM, Sterling Mental Health, Sterling Outpatient and all rural BHS programs.

Oversee substance use curriculum delivery to clients and the scheduling of clinical services in the substance use programs based at/out of Sterling and/or rural Illinois.

Oversee PFM curriculum delivery to clients and the scheduling of clinical SU/MH/Case Management services for appropriate/eligible PFM clients.

Oversee mental health outpatient and case management service delivery to clients receiving services in the mental health programs based at/out of Sterling and/or rural Illinois.

Meet reporting, productivity, and service deliverable requirements identified by LSSI, DHS, SUPR and other funding bodies. Collaborate with other LSSI programs/departments, including Central Intake and Development, and Advancement, as needed.

Responsible for collaborating with HR and Recruitment to fill vacant positions.

Review both written and EHR documentation to ensure compliance with DHS/Rule 140, SUPR/Part 2060.

Monitor and assure facility maintenance at Sterling, with the assistance and support of the Director of Maintenance.

Ensure adherence to ethical standards of treatment, including NASW Code of Ethics.

Familiarity with emergency procedures.

Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, and other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individuals in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Position Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a social service field is preferred.

CADC or the ability to obtain a CADC within 18 months of hire is required.

LPC/LCPC or LSW/LCSW is preferred.

Background check clearance is required.

Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards.

3–5 years of experience in the substance use field with increasing levels of responsibility preferred.

2–4 years of administrative/supervisory experience is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Occasional driving may be required.

Valid Driver's License in good standing for the state of residency is required.

Valid IL statutory and liability insurance coverage is required.
