We are opening a position for an experienced, hands‑on SR. Director/Director, Procurement at our Monmouth Junction, NJ facility.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all current GxPs, FDA, DEA, OSHA regulations, and all applicable company compliance guidelines, standards and objectives.
Lead and/or oversee procurement, warehousing, logistics functions to ensure day‑to‑day management of the company’s supply chain, logistics and inventory levels across the organization.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, R&D, Finance, etc. to support purchasing controls and a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the organization’s overall goals; identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
Identify and participate in sourcing strategies, build long‑term collaborative supplier/vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, terms and pricing to ensure optimal value; monitor supplier performance and conduct regular business reviews.
Identify and mitigate risks in procurement, ensuring business effectiveness, continuity and compliance; develop and enforce ethical procurement practices and drive sustainability initiatives.
Leverage procurement technologies (e.g., ERP) to enhance efficiency and transparency; remain current on market trends and emerging technologies.
Ensure annual procurement budget (savings, cost avoidance, inflation) are met; track and analyze procurement spending and other key metrics to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
Lead and/or oversee the Order Fulfillment Process from production release to customer delivery; collaborate with customer service, planning and distribution teams to meet service level agreements.
Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage and distribution of materials and products; implement inventory control systems to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize obsolescence.
Manage, coach and mentor direct reports.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 9 years of experience in procurement, logistics and/or supply chain positions with increasing technical and strategic responsibility in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing.
Proven track record of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMPs and pharmaceutical supply chain dynamics.
Working knowledge of sustainable procurement practices, supplier diversity and responsible sourcing.
Proficiency with JDEdwards (JDE) or other ERP systems.
Strong negotiation skills.
People management experience.
Location:
Monmouth Junction, NJ office (5 days per week).
Salary:
Anticipated salary range $210,000 to $260,000 per year, based on experience.
