Job Description
C. Mack Solutions is seeking Database Developers to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems on a mission‑critical program for the Federal Government. The Database Developer will work alongside database developers and administrators to support active application development efforts. Responsibilities include creating and updating database structures, managing data within large and complex environments, and optimizing performance across AWS and on‑prem systems. This role will also contribute to data pipelines and replication processes while collaborating with program teams to support design and implementation needs. It’s a strong opportunity to expand into new domains and learn new tools in a dynamic environment.

You must live within the DC, MD, VA area.
U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must be able to obtain CBP Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years in database development roles
Experience in data profiling, cleansing, reporting, data staging, ETL jobs, batch jobs, partitioning and replication
Strong experience troubleshooting, tuning SQL and writing performance queries for AWS hosted and on‑prem databases
Strong experience in developing, tuning, and monitoring data replication jobs – with strong preference to a replication tool (e.i. Qlik Replicate or similar) and manual scripting from various sources (DB2, Postges, Oracle) to various targets (Databricks, DB2, Postgres).
Strong experience creating complex SQL in complex data environments including entity relationships, data modeling, data normalization/denormalization
Experience in writing DDL, DML and DCL
Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL database development – preferable in AWS RDS environment
Experience script writing (prefer Python)
AWS experience encompassing large‑scale data migration and validation processes, development and maintenance of end‑to‑end data pipelines, and performance monitoring.
Proficient in leveraging Kibana and Dynatrace for log analysis, alerting, and system optimization across distributed cloud environments.
Quickly adapts to new tools and technologies, using them to propose fresh approaches to problem‑solving.
Works closely with program teams and customers to align on design decisions while respecting project parameters.
Excellent communication skills with both clients and technical staff.

Experience with Informatica ETL
Experience working with federal government clients
Expertise in Oracle or DB2
Experience in database administration
Experience in with Agile methodology and Jira
