William and William Recruiting
They're engineering sophisticated hardware-software systems deployed in demanding real-world environments: autonomous vehicles navigating complex urban landscapes and intelligent robots delivering packages at scale. To achieve this, they've built a robust technical foundation combining advanced hardware design, embedded systems, and field-tested softwareenabling teams to move fast while maintaining safety and reliability. Their platform is how engineers prototype and validate new capabilities, how manufacturing scales from concept to production, and how they gain confidence in system performance under real-world conditions.
The team you'll join owns this complexity, supporting engineers through prototyping and manufacturing while ensuring products meet performance targets. If you're excited about technical project management that directly enables scalable, production-ready hardware systems, you'll find meaningful challenges here.
About the Role
You'll manage complex hardware-software projects from concept through production, coordinating cross-functional teams to overcome the challenges of bringing physical products to market. You'll act as the technical and organizational backbonetranslating between engineers, manufacturing, and leadership while maintaining clarity on timelines, risks, and dependencies. Key challenges include managing concurrent projects with competing priorities, orchestrating hardware prototyping and manufacturing campaigns, and solving thorny technical problems that require deep technical understanding and creative problem-solving. What You'll Do Own hardware-software projects end-to-end, from prototyping through production deployment Orchestrate cross-functional teams and drive resolution of complex technical issues Build processes that accelerate development while maintaining quality and safety Keep distributed teams aligned on status, risks, and milestones
What You'll Need
5+ years managing concurrent hardware and software projects in fast-paced environments Deep ownership mindset with comfort for ambiguity, prioritization discipline, and calm under pressure Direct communication style; ability to deliver difficult feedback and navigate technical complexity Solid understanding of product hardware development: sourcing, prototyping, manufacturing, and quality control Technical fluency: read Python/C++ code, understand schematics and system architecture, work in Linux/Docker environments Experience collaborating with firmware, embedded systems, and electrical engineering teams
Nice to Have
Automotive or robotics startup experience Knowledge of hardware protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, PCIe) or embedded systems disciplines Manufacturing or quality control background Exposure to ML/AI systems architecture
Preferred Industry
Technology and Robotics Manufacturing and Hardware Engineering
