Overview
Research & Development Engineer II to support sustainability and development of medical devices for BD's healthcare products.
The candidate should be passionate about solutions to clinician and patient unmet needs, and enjoy the details involved with the long‑term outlook of technological solutions to clinical needs. Duties and Responsibilities
Understanding of medical device regulations and design controls.
Execution of testing according to existing methods and development of protocols, test methods, and statistical analysis.
Documentation of sustainability and product development risk activities and design controls.
Application of engineering principles to solve basic engineering problems.
Authorship of requirements documents for subsystems, components, or larger systems.
Participation in Voice of Customer activities.
Budgeting support and input to budget owners.
Ordering project supplies and managing quotes.
Reporting progress to manager and completing management updates.
Collaboration in a cross‑functional team environment.
Interpretation of small, well‑characterized data sets and clear communication of conclusions.
Active participation in team meetings, problem‑solving activities, and project planning.
Frequent communication of upcoming milestones to team members.
Interaction with product managers and engineers to understand business aspects of product development.
Contribution to project teams where technical issues and product development challenges have driven unique solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in STEM or related field (preferred).
0–5+ years of professional experience in product engineering.
Experience gained in a classroom, internship, or co‑op setting.
Strong technical degree work demonstrated.
Location Salt Lake City, UT, USA
Salary $75,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
