Base pay range $140,700.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

Your impact The energy space is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes and Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power team to support clients navigate the complexities of rapid deployment of reliable and sustainable energy solutions across multiple end markets.

We are seeking a project manager/technologist to take a leading role in project delivery as we continue to expand our project portfolio. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to deploy your project leadership skills to develop innovative solutions that will support growing power demands and accelerate the energy transition across North America.

This opening provides the opportunity to be meaningfully engaged with a range of energy advisory projects, including:

Energy master planning

Feasibility studies (techno‑economic)

Data center power solutions

District Energy Systems

Renewable energy and storage solutions

Thermal power solutions

The desired candidate should have experience across multiple generation technologies and will have direct experience in delivering projects within at least three of the categories listed above.

Demonstrated abilities include a broad understanding of the potential energy solutions. Experience in client development, consulting, design, construction, and EPC project delivery will be highly regarded, as will experience in owner’s engineer roles or advisory roles, as well as strategic project development experience.

Key Responsibilities

Manage internal Jacobs teams as well as external subconsultants and contractors.

Work with clients to solve their energy challenges, including speed to market, reliability and sustainability.

Collaborate with our technical leadership, client account managers, and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance.

Manage client relationships to ensure all expectations are understood and met. Work with the broader Jacobs team as necessary to ensure stewardship of positive client relationships, including active involvement in the resolution of any client concerns.

Oversee assigned projects to minimize risk and adhere to project budget, schedule, scope, and quality, identifying and mitigating risks as they arise.

Lead in identifying, developing and pursuing business opportunities with existing or new potential clients.

Support Jacobs’ operational and business development teams with proposals or other materials for new business opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.

At least 8 years of design, consulting, or project development experience.

Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win work, and then deliver innovative solutions providing value to both the client and provider.

Demonstrated ability for higher‑level strategic, exploration, concept, and development planning for energy projects, including knowledge and application of new and emerging technologies.

Demonstrated skills in concept and developed design optimization programs to guide sound technical guidance for decision making.

Effective presentation, communication and technical writing skills.

Experience and understanding of multi‑disciplinary project delivery teams.

Comfortable and effective working independently, as well as leading and collaboratively working in cross‑functional teams with multi‑levels of the organization including owner’s personnel and third‑party engineers and contractors.

Other Highly Regarded Qualifications

Professional Registration.

Experience with:

Thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water)

Utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning

Cogeneration or combined heat and power systems

Microgrid and other distributed energy resources systems

Data center or mission critical loads

Renewable energy projects

Complex energy system modeling

This role can be filled remotely, in office, or in a hybrid capacity.
