About the Role As a Resident Consultant, you’ll be a dedicated Cloudflare expert, directly embedded within our largest customers’ teams. You will serve as the primary technical resource, providing hands‑on configuration and strategic guidance to drive the success of complex implementations. This is a critical role for customers with unique requirements who need a continuous, on‑site technical presence.
Responsibilities
Lead Technical Engagements – Serve as a technical lead during migration, from initial planning to project completion; architect multi‑stage migrations, define solution designs, and lead discussions with customer stakeholders. After the migration, stay with the account as a trusted technical advisor to lead key strategic initiatives.
Architect & Configure Solutions – Design and architect comprehensive solutions tailored to our customer’s needs; perform hands‑on configuration, create proof‑of‑concept setups, and use basic scripting to automate tasks at scale.
Provide Strategic Guidance – Act as a trusted advisor to help customers understand the long‑term value of their investment; work with the customer to identify and plan for future strategic goals after the initial migration is complete.
Serve as a subject matter expert – Develop and maintain deep expertise in one or more product domains or industries, including understanding competitive solutions and configurations.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience as a technical lead on complex enterprise‑level projects in the cloud networks, web infrastructure, or security space.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customer teams both technical and non‑technical.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and web performance.
Deep expertise in at least one of the following domains: application security, network services, zero trust/SASE architectures.
Extensive experience in implementing and supporting complex technical solutions, preferably with Cloudflare products.
A strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Proficiency in scripting and coding languages, including knowledge of AI/LLM concepts.
Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan. The estimated annual salary range includes the on‑target incentive compensation that may be attained under the Plan. For Washington, DC based hires: Estimated annual salary of $165,000 - $252,000.
Equity This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.

Cloudflare Projects Project Galileo: Since 2014, we’ve equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work. These tools are already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers—at no cost.
Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we’ve provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.
1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy‑centric public DNS resolver. It is available publicly for everyone to use – it is the first consumer‑focused service Cloudflare has ever released. We do not store client IP addresses; we continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.
