Merchandise Planning & Analysis Manager

The Planning & Analysis Manager leads the development of merchandise and inventory plans and delivers actionable insights to support key business decisions across Merchandising, Product Design, Sourcing, Inventory Planning, and Creative teams. This role acts as a strategic advisor to guide profitable, data-informed decision-making.
This position will report to the Vice President of Merchandising.
This position does not have direct reports.
This position will report to the office at least 6-8 times per month.
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage financial plans (monthly to 3-year) by category and product collection.
Drive assortment, program & SKU planning, inventory flows, pricing & promotional strategies.
Develop and maintain performance metrics (productivity, margin, demand, returns, etc.).
Lead seasonal and assortment planning aligned with merchandising goals.
Perform in-depth sales, margin, and inventory analysis; identify growth and optimization opportunities.
Create and maintain reporting dashboards and tools to support cross-functional teams.
Collaborate on product viability testing, product hierarchy/taxonomy, tiered pricing strategy, shipping rates, and discount planning.
Partner with Inventory, Marketing, and Merchandising teams on planning alignment.
Support pricing, landed cost analysis, and profitability planning.
Lead cross-functional planning meetings and provide insights to executive leadership.
Experience & Skills
8–10 years in merchandising, planning, or inventory management for a multi-channel retailer.
Proven leadership experience and cross-functional collaboration.
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; SQL and forecasting tool experience required.
Strong communication and storytelling through data visualization tools.
Highly organized with excellent prioritization and project management capabilities.
