Precast Project Engineer – Civil/Structural
Join Fisher Associates as a Precast Project Engineer. You will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding design and delivery of advanced precast and prestressed concrete structures across civil and structural projects.
Overview In this key role, you’ll mentor junior engineers, ensure design excellence, and drive innovation in sustainable, code‑compliant precast solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute precast engineering and design tasks efficiently.
Collaborate with project teams to deliver structurally sound, cost‑effective, and visually appealing precast concrete designs.
Perform and review structural analysis and calculations to guarantee safety under various loads and conditions.
Select materials and components for precast concrete production that meet strength, durability, and sustainability standards.
Create accurate drawings, plans, and specifications for precast projects aligned with industry design standards.
Support cost estimation for materials.
Support project managers and designers throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of codes, technologies, and advancements in the precast‑prestressed field.
Promote, utilize, and support QA/QC processes to guarantee quality deliverables.
Mentor junior staff and support their technical development.
Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
10+ years of experience in precast concrete design engineering for transportation infrastructure and underground structures.
Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE‑7, AASHTO; knowledge of IBC codes a plus.
Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and RISA 3D.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and judgment skills.
Ability to own projects, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
Highly adaptable and proactive in meeting deliverables and deadlines.
