Position Summary Join our dynamic team as a Gateway Test and Verification Systems Engineer and become a vital contributor to support NASA as an Oceaneering teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. You will play a crucial role in the Systems Engineering and Technical Integration section, ensuring that services not only meet but outperform all standards and expectations. Your role will immerse you in human spaceflight and deep space exploration programs, collaborating with a passionate team dedicated to excellence.

We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to owning their work, and a desire for continuous learning. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred, with potential for hiring across the professional career framework. International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or one day of telework per week may be available.

Duties and Responsibilities

Support development and maintenance of Verification and Validation (V&V) plans, verification matrices, and test procedures for Gateway systems and subsystems.

Assist with requirements decomposition and traceability, ensuring every requirement has a clear verification method (test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration).

Participate in integration and test planning, coordinating with NASA teams and international partners.

Contribute to the development of test configurations, procedures, and documentation for subsystem and system‑level tests.

Support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and Verification Reviews (VRs) by providing technical content and tracking verification closure.

Capture, organize, and document verification evidence and test results to maintain full lifecycle traceability.

Work collaboratively with other systems engineering, integration, and safety disciplines to ensure coherent system verification approaches.

Identify opportunities to improve test and verification processes, tools, and templates within the JETS II organization.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

Previous experience in systems engineering, test engineering, or verification and validation for aerospace or other complex systems.

Familiarity with requirements management and verification processes (e.g., SharePoint, DOORS, JAMA, or equivalent tools).

Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an integrated, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to NASA programs, spaceflight hardware development, or aerospace verification practices.

Working knowledge of NASA Systems Engineering processes (NPR 7123.1) or INCOSE guidelines.

Experience with environmental testing, data review, or hardware integration activities.

Familiarity with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts and SysML‑based tools.

Prior experience supporting Gateway, Orion, ISS, or Artemis‑related efforts.

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency; required for this position.

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
