Amentum is seeking a
Gateway Test and Verification Systems Engineer
to support NASA\'s Gateway Program at Johnson Space Center with Aerodyne Industries, a teammate company. The Gateway is a cornerstone of the Artemis campaign—a platform that will enable long-duration lunar missions and serve as a staging point for exploration beyond the Moon. In this role, you\'ll contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of verification and validation (V&V) activities across Gateway systems. You\'ll work alongside NASA engineers and subject-matter experts to ensure that the systems being designed, built, and tested perform as intended in the demanding environment of space.
Responsibilities
Support development and maintenance of Verification and Validation (V&V) plans, verification matrices, and test procedures for Gateway systems and subsystems.
Assist with requirements decomposition and traceability, ensuring every requirement has a clear verification method (test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration).
Participate in integration and test planning, coordinating with NASA teams and international partners.
Contribute to the development of test configurations, procedures, and documentation for subsystem and system-level tests.
Support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and Verification Reviews (VRs) by providing technical content and tracking verification closure.
Capture, organize, and document verification evidence and test results to maintain full lifecycle traceability.
Work collaboratively with other systems engineering, integration, and safety disciplines to ensure coherent system verification approaches.
Identify opportunities to improve test and verification processes, tools, and templates within the JETS II organization.
Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.
Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
Previous experience in systems engineering, test engineering, or verification and validation for aerospace or other complex systems.
Familiarity with requirements management and verification processes (e.g., Sharepoint, DOORS, JAMA, or equivalent tools).
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an integrated, multi-disciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to NASA programs, spaceflight hardware development, or aerospace verification practices.
Working knowledge of NASA Systems Engineering processes (NPR 7123.1) or INCOSE guidelines.
Experience with environmental testing, data review, or hardware integration activities.
Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts and SysML-based tools.
Prior experience supporting Gateway, Orion, ISS, or Artemis-related efforts a plus.
