Job Description To promote the safety and tranquil stay of hotel guests and associates, and to ensure the policies and procedures of the hotel are maintained in a safe and secure environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a Tennessee unarmed security license, pass Dallas's Law training, and complete CPR/AED and first aid certification upon hire.
Responsibilities
Promote the safety of guests, associates, and hotel property at all times.
Perform security patrols and monitor areas such as restaurants, banquet and meeting spaces, guest floors, associate entrances, parking areas, back of house areas, and hotel exteriors.
Visit all locations requiring special attention as frequently as required.
Respond immediately to emergency incidents and security requests.
Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, ensuring the security of the receiving area.
Report all activities during each shift in written and oral format following established security procedures.
Maintain administrative duties of the Loss Prevention Department, including writing reports, processing work orders, ordering supplies, scheduling, and posting bulletin board information.
Maintain the highest standards of security with a professional attitude, appearance, and application.
Monitor associates entering and leaving the hotel, inspect parcels and package passes, and inspect the back entrance and receiving dock.
Verify identification of all job applicants, salesmen, and non-staff personnel before granting access, and notify the department head for permission as required.
Confiscate unauthorized items and notify the Director of Loss Prevention, Director of Engineering, Human Resources, and other appropriate department heads.
Track key control program phases, investigate discrepancies, and report findings to the Director of Loss Prevention.
Maintain all security equipment (uniforms, radios, cameras, SALTO Card system, etc.) in clean and good working condition.
Administer the hotel Lost and Found program.
Maintain regular communication with the Director of Loss Prevention.
Perform duties assigned by supervisor and respond to directions from any executive committee member or manager.
Qualifications
One-year experience in a similar Loss Prevention role preferred.
Valid Tennessee Unarmed Security Guard License upon date of hire.
Dallas's Law training completed before date of hire.
Experience in Loss Prevention in an upscale hospitality establishment preferred.
CPR and basic first aid certification.
Good verbal and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and computer use.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 lb without assistance.
Capacity to stand, walk, or sit for an extended period during an entire shift.
Tolerance for repetitive motion, including extended telephone/computer use.
