Overview
Job Title : Campus Engineering Facilities Manager - Dekalb The Plant Engineering Facilities Manager oversees maintenance operations across four buildings on the DeKalb Campus, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally. This role requires a strong background in automation technologies to enhance production efficiency and reduce downtime. The manager leads a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, develops maintenance strategies, and implements automation solutions to improve plant operations. Note: The DeKalb Campus is 3M’s largest Distribution Center with 2.5M square feet and over 800 employees on site. 3M celebrates 40 years in DeKalb this year and continues to grow and adopt new warehouse technologies. Responsibilities
Oversee the maintenance operations across 4 buildings totaling 2.5M square feet Manage and supervise a team of 18 employees Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated systems and machinery Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and production downtime Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting and cost control Participate as a partner to guide, influence, and gain consensus on the capital investment plan Implement strategic and operational plans for the engineering department and its supported business units Collaborate with Divisional/International Engineering Managers and business clients to build strong working relationships Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Facility Management, Construction Management, or Business Administration (completed and verified prior to start) Three (3) years experience with automated machinery, robotics, and control systems Three (3) years of experience in plant maintenance management with a focus on automation systems Three (3) years of proven experience in plant maintenance management in private, public, government or military environments Additional qualifications that could help you succeed: Experience managing multiple automation installations in distribution or manufacturing settings Experience with maintenance management software and tools Strong leadership, team management, communication, and interpersonal skills Work Location, Travel & Relocation
Work location: On-site model; on-site 5 days a week Travel: Up to 3% travel Relocation: May be authorized Other requirements : Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for an employment visa (e.g., H1B). Supporting Your Well-being
