IT Sys Admin (RMF / Security) – Top Secret – Onsite: Palmdale, CA
About the Role This Enterprise Operations (EO) position supports the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Division located at the Palmdale, CA facility. The Systems Administrator role focuses heavily on RMF and Security.
Key Responsibilities
Function as part of the IT support team; manage multiple closed environments, ensuring patching, STIGing, and infrastructure deployments for assigned programs.
Plan, implement, monitor, and upgrade security measures to protect program data, systems, and networks.
Ensure the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling appropriate security controls.
Troubleshoot technical security and network problems.
Work Schedule Onsite position in Palmdale, CA, working a 4x10 schedule (Mon‑Thu) initially, then transitioning to a 4x10 schedule (Wed‑Sat).
Screening Requirements
Active DoD Top Secret clearance (U.S. Citizen).
Non‑expired CompTIA Security+ certification.
Experience with Windows Operating Systems (e.g., Windows Server 2016/2019, Win10).
Experience with RMF / Security, including vulnerability remediation and security management (system hardening, log management, configuration management).
Ability to lift 30 lbs, carry up and down stairs, and crouch under desks to connect workstations/peripherals.
Desired Skills
Obtain technical certification for 8140 compliance within 90 days (e.g., AZ‑900, VMware VCTA‑DCV, RHCSA).
Linux and Windows Server expertise.
On‑prem virtualization (ESX/vSphere), storage and backup expertise, Nagios, SCCM/MECM, Trellix ePO, Tenable Security Center, Splunk administration.
Knowledge of scripting and automation (Perl, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible), Group Policy, COTS software installations, network protocols.
