Toro Toro Food & Beverage Attendant (Full-Time) at InterContinental Miami Downtown
We are seeking a genuine ambassador of the InterContinental brand to join our team as a Food & Beverage Attendant. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Expediting food from the kitchen to ensure prompt service of meals to guests Assisting servers in providing fast and courteous service of food and beverage to guests Attending to food and beverage buffet areas to ensure a high level of quality and consistency Adhering to all health, sanitation, and cleanliness standards that meet state and local Health Board inspection, brand standard, and hotel requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting the wait staff in the service of food in accordance with established standards Setting up stations in the kitchen Delivering food from the kitchen to guests' tables and announcing food as it is placed in front of the guest, if required Maintaining the orderly upkeep of coolers and storage areas Maintaining all assigned food production service areas in an orderly manner in compliance with sanitation and health regulations Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas Promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments Clearing, cleaning, and setting tables according to established service standards Cleaning and/or wiping down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors of the restaurant Separating dirty china, glassware, and silver and delivering them to the kitchen for cleaning Performing set-up and closing side work assignments, such as making coffee, folding napkins, etc. Stocking service stations or pantries with napkins, placemats, condiments, etc. Preparing and/or transporting all food and beverage items and associated supplies, equipment, and materials to and from buffet areas Monitoring areas to ensure adequate supplies of food, beverage, trays, plates, utensils, napkins, condiments, etc. to serve all guests Replenishing buffet items and areas as necessary FOLLOWING preparation methods, times, and quality and presentation standards Welcoming guests and responding to requests in a prompt and professional manner What we need from you: Qualifications and Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Basic reading, writing, and math skills, and some prior food preparation and food service experience preferred Ability to perform the following: carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, standing up and moving about the kitchen, cafeteria, and outlet, or other designated areas Other requirements: Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, supervisors, wait staff, and cooks Food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency Mathematical skills, including basic math, measurements, quantities, and variances, are used frequently when performing room service duties May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays What we offer: The hourly pay rate for this role is $9.50, plus gratuities.
