Post Doctoral Fellow – The Emory Autism Center Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Emory University School of Medicine, beginning July 1, 2026. One‑year appointment with possibility of renewal for a second year. Provides training opportunities within the Emory Oaks program, a college autism support program for autistic students.

Description Fellow will provide Support Navigation services for Emory Oaks participants—individualized coaching, mentoring, advising, and connecting—within a neurodiversity‑affirming framework. Additional responsibilities may include social and group programming, research and evaluation, and other aspects of Emory Oaks. Opportunities exist in the EAC Transition Services program (Quest), School‑Based Consultation and Training (Monarch), and other EAC programs serving transition‑age autistic individuals and adults. Fellow may receive clinical supervision and accrue supervised work hours toward professional licensure in psychology.

Responsibilities

Helps design and conduct research within a specified field under a Principal Investigator.

Designs and evaluates experiments.

Develops new ideas to promote current research.

Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.

May operate specific equipment.

May teach techniques, train, and supervise research staff.

Temporarily appointed; initial appointment one year with renewal expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available.

Appointments cannot exceed five years.

Minimum Qualifications

A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS, etc.) in an appropriate field.

Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.

Ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.

Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Special Education, or related applied fields (e.g., social work, speech‑language pathology).

Strong experience in assessment and intervention with autistic individuals.

Excellent scientific writing, strong oral communication, and outstanding interdisciplinary teamwork skills.

Background working with autistic young adults and experience with individual and group psychotherapy.

Neurodivergent candidates encouraged to apply.

Remote Work and Residency

Role allows working from home regularly but requires commuting to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule.

Requires residency in the state of Georgia.
