The EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Coordinator is responsible for leading and executing all safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance programs within the organization. This role ensures that all operational activities adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines while promoting a safe, sustainable, and compliant workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
Lead safety initiatives and ensure consistent application across departments and sites.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Investigate incidents and near misses; prepare thorough reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Coordinate and deliver safety and environmental training programs for all employees.
Maintain and manage safety files, records, permits, and compliance documentation.
Collaborate with department heads to promote a proactive safety culture.
Track key metrics such as incident rates, training compliance, and audit scores.
Stay current on evolving safety regulations and best practices in EHS.
Ensure readiness for internal and external audits or inspections.
Support sustainability and waste management initiatives.
Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor or as required by the company’s quality system and operating procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–5 years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable safety regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written) — bilingual is a plus.
Proven skills in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS software systems is preferred.
High level of initiative and accountability.
