Secondary school diploma or recognized equivalent.
Or: completion of at least two years of higher education (48 semester hours) or an associate’s degree (or higher); or passing a rigorous assessment demonstrating knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics at the level required by state and federal regulations.
Applicants may be exempt from the multiple‑choice examination if they provide college transcripts verifying 48 or more core units in English and Math with a grade of “C” or better. Transcripts must be submitted with the application.

Benefits & Compensation
Stipend: $500/yr for associate’s degree, $1,500/yr for bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees (prorated by FTE and paid in equal monthly installments).
Health insurance (family medical coverage, life, vision, dental) for employees working 25 hours or more per week.
Paid holidays: 16 authorized holidays per year.
Long‑term service pay increases; shift differential of 3.75% for work between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Full retirement benefits through CPERS and Social Security for employees working four or more hours per day.
