A well-established precision manufacturer in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate multi-axis CNC Swiss Lathes (Citizen models L12, L20, M32) and Miyano machine tools
Perform full changeovers and first article setups for precision aerospace components
Modify and develop part programs directly at the machine
Interpret blueprints, routing instructions, specifications, and quality control plans to ensure accuracy
Operate general shop equipment such as benchtop lathes, saws, grinders, sanders, and buffing wheels
Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality
Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years’ experience setting up and changing over CNC Swiss-style lathes
Experience with CNC programming is a plus
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, gauges, comparators, etc.)
Familiarity with Mitsubishi controls and G & M code
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred
Prior experience in a fast-paced, high mix job shop environment is ideal
