About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic leadership and comprehensive management of all nursing service departments and clinical areas. The CNO will be the driving force behind the quality of patient care, ensuring that services are delivered by a team of highly skilled and properly prepared personnel. This pivotal role involves upholding the company's mission, vision, and strategic goals, particularly in the surgical institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing hospital-wide plans for nursing care, overseeing personnel management, and serving as a vital administrative resource for clinical directors. Collaborative leadership, performance improvement, and budget management are also key aspects of the position.
Candidates for the CNO position at the company must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, with a Master’s degree strongly preferred. An active and current California Registered Nurse (RN) license is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment, with a background as a Director of multiple, complex nursing departments. While previous experience as a CNO and in a surgical hospital is preferred, it is not mandatory. The role demands demonstrated competence in management and leadership skills, a proactive approach to regulatory standards, and a strong knowledge of the social, economic, and legal issues affecting healthcare systems. The CNO will be expected to stay informed and up-to-date in all aspects of nursing care and management and to ensure that nursing processes and standards are in line with current research and national professional standards.
