About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead its fundraising strategy and operations, with a focus on expanding major donor programs and foundation funding streams. The CDO will be a key member of the leadership team, working closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to create and implement plans for obtaining contributed income. This includes managing individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and stewardship efforts for grant applications. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years' experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of increasing philanthropic revenue, and at least 3 years in a leadership and management role.

The role requires a visionary leader with the ability to recruit, develop, and manage a team of development professionals, as well as experience in frontline major gift fundraising. The CDO will be responsible for all aspects of the development program, from high net-worth individual giving to digital fundraising, and must have a strong understanding of modern fundraising principles and best practices. The ideal candidate will be a forward thinker, adept at utilizing new methods of constituent engagement, and have a working knowledge of modern data management practices. Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge NXT is a plus. A deep understanding of the needs and opportunities for those experiencing homelessness in the relevant area is essential.
