The CDO will be responsible for generating significant annual philanthropic revenue, as well as additional funds for capital and special projects. This role involves creating and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, overseeing the development department budget, and supervising a small team. The successful candidate will be a strategic and skilled leader, with a proven track record in fundraising, including major and planned gifts, grant management, and special events. They must be a collaborative and innovative thought leader, with the ability to build and maintain a strong donor base through thoughtful cultivation and stewardship.

Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' professional fundraising experience in a leadership role, with a focus on social service or community-based organizations. The role requires exceptional communication, interpersonal, and management skills, as well as proficiency in donor management tools, with Salesforce experience being strongly preferred. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a CFRE certification is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the mission of the organization, the ability to work with a diverse community, and a commitment to the highest standards of professional practice and ethical principles. Experience in the Jewish community is strongly preferred, and the candidate should be a team player who places the mission and philanthropic initiatives above personal gain.
