Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will work within the Engineering Department to design, develop, and evaluate manufacturing processes for vertical and horizontal lathes, as well as multi-axis milling machines. This role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring high-quality production of complex aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop cost-effective manufacturing processes to support 4- and 5-axis machining centers.
  • Design quick-changeover fixtures and tooling to optimize production efficiency.
  • Create detailed shop floor documentation, including operation sheets and work instructions.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Identify and initiate corrective actions for process issues on the shop floor.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs and contribute to quoting processes.
  • Participate in lean and continuous improvement events to enhance operational performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace.
  • Strong experience with aerospace materials and complex parts, including milling and turning processes.
  • Proficient in Unigraphics NX4-5, CAM, and 3D modeling.
  • Skilled in Lean Manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to established procedures.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines with accountability.
