Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will work within the Engineering Department to design, develop, and evaluate manufacturing processes for vertical and horizontal lathes, as well as multi-axis milling machines. This role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring high-quality production of complex aerospace components. Position Title Manufacturing Engineer Location Bay Shore, NY Experience 3+ years Key Responsibilities Develop cost-effective manufacturing processes to support 4- and 5-axis machining centers. Design quick-changeover fixtures and tooling to optimize production efficiency. Create detailed shop floor documentation, including operation sheets and work instructions. Implement cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles. Identify and initiate corrective actions for process issues on the shop floor. Estimate manufacturing costs and contribute to quoting processes. Participate in lean and continuous improvement events to enhance operational performance. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace. Strong experience with aerospace materials and complex parts, including milling and turning processes. Proficient in Unigraphics NX4-5, CAM, and 3D modeling. Skilled in Lean Manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Strong attention to detail and adherence to established procedures. Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines with accountability.
