HVAC and Utilities . At SSOE, we are seeking a dynamic and innovative engineer to join our Food and Consumer Products (FCP) business unit. The candidate should be a self-starter with clear and concise communication skills and knowledge of GMP design in HVAC and utilities. Responsibilities
Leads and orchestrates projects by exercising sound judgment in assessing, selecting, and adapting standard methodologies for food and beverage industry clients. Performs assignments with general guidance on results; resolves problems with sound judgment and may seek technical guidance on unusual or complex problems; solicit approval for proposed design solutions. Performs detailed engineering work on major projects or full engineering work on smaller/moderate projects. Analyzes mechanical, utility and HVAC systems to improve efficiency and address production and other issues. Collaborates with clients and internal resources to develop project scopes, schedules and budgets. Develops precise engineering and capital cost estimates to ensure project viability and cost-effectiveness. May devise new approaches to problems and communicates changes to the team. May supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and review drawings within the discipline. May participate in client contact and business development activities. Meets with clients to define project scope, present progress, and ensure client satisfaction. Develops engineering concepts and presentations; coordinates work with other disciplines. Keeps current on new design methods and ideas. Travel required; valid driver’s license required (waivers possible for international assignments). Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; licensure in your state essential for this position. PE or PE-tracked strongly preferred; ten or more years of related experience with previous employers. Minimum of 8 years designing HVAC and mechanical utility systems with a background in sanitary production environments. Prior consulting experience in the pharmaceutical and/or food industry and experience in sanitary design. Proficient in MS Office and familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD programs. Strong communications, facilitation, and team leadership skills. Salary Range: $120,000 to $130,000 per year, depending on location, education, experience, and related certifications.
