Our Solutions Consultants (SCs) tell stories, co-create with customers, and help shape strategy with technical credibility and business insight. "Appian Solution Consulting" starts with the Why behind the mission-critical solutions driving customer success. Through storytelling, technical solutioning, and business consulting, our consultants help customers understand the business value of Appian’s technology during the sales cycle and beyond. They are trusted advisors for customers, partners, sales, product, marketing, and leadership. Senior Solutions Consultant opportunity: actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, collaborating with the sales team as the key technical adviser and product advocate. Demonstrate the value of Appian’s platform to both business and technical users in competitive scenarios and identify technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. What You'll Be Doing Responsibilities

Partner with Account Executives to achieve defined sales goals Lead efforts to ensure delivery of technical resources into sales campaigns Propose technical and creative business solutions in support of sales activities Design and deliver high-quality technical Proofs of Concept for prospective customers Present technical and business aspects of proposed solutions to a C-Level audience Represent Appian’s product to customers and at field events such as conferences, summits, and seminars Assist with the strategy within target accounts by building customer relationships Manage target accounts that may span multiple Account Executives Collaborate across the organization to obtain the support needed to achieve technical goals Travel up to 70% to customer locations within the assigned region To Be Successful In This Role

Core Capabilities/Mindset Customer-obsessed mindset with willingness to travel up to 70% to engage with clients and ensure Appian solutions align with their objectives Exceptional communication and influencing skills to engage executives and technical decision makers Ability to translate objectives into solution designs demonstrating Appian’s value Act as a true co-seller with Account Executives, sharing accountability for planning, pipeline health, opportunity qualification, and revenue Facilitate customer roadmaps and transformation workshops with senior stakeholders Technical Capabilities Understand customer IT and business landscapes (ERP, CRM, data, workflow, AI, partner solutions) Design architectures that integrate Appian into enterprise environments Deliver persona-based, outcome-oriented demos connecting Appian to ROI Lead disciplined customer evaluations (POCs/POVs) with clear sponsorship and measurable outcomes Develop reusable assets (demos, blueprints, frameworks, success stories) for global reuse Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree in a related field Experience as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer or client-facing Professional Services/Consulting role involving sales scenarios and custom POCs/demos Strong problem-solving ability and technical depth for RFIs/RFPs Familiarity with BPM, Low Code, or Application Development Platforms is a plus Experience programming in modern web/enterprise environments Strong verbal and written communication, with customer interaction and requirements analysis Basic Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 5+ years supporting enterprise SaaS sales cycles with discovery, solution design, executive engagement, and measurable value delivery Tools and Resources Onboarding and training programs, mentorship, and growth opportunities, including leadership programs and Appian University Support for professional development and education; tuition reimbursement available Inclusive community with employee-led affinity groups and internal networking opportunities About Appian Appian is a software company that automates business processes.
