Our client is a well-established, medium-sized commercial contractor with a strong focus on office interior projects in the region. Position Overview:
As a Preconstruction Estimator, you will be a key player in the early phases of projects, working closely with clients, architects, and subcontractors to develop budgets and bid proposals for upcoming work. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed project budgets, including quantity takeoffs and pricing for all trades, including general conditions and fees. Prepare bid proposal packages, including subcontractor and vendor pricing, project schedules, and team qualifications. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and vendor proposals. Create and manage subcontractor bid scopes. Track and maintain preconstruction documents, RFIs, addenda, and changes throughout the bidding process. Analyze design documents to identify scope, risks, and potential value-engineering opportunities. Collaborate with clients, designers, and internal teams to support budgeting, pricing strategies, and project turnover. What They're Looking For: 3–5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preferably with office interior projects. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. Familiarity with local subcontractor markets and cost trends. Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, estimating software (e.g., Procore, Planswift), and general construction technologies. Strong understanding of construction drawings and MEP systems. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to review budgets and bid packages with teams and clients.
