We’re looking for a
Founding Designer
to join Flint as our first full-time design hire. Very uniquely at Flint, design is the product. It’s not just about designing interfaces. It’s also about designing the design systems the Flint sites rely on — creating a system that at once can reproduce frontends reliably but also one that AI agents can understand. It’s also about incorporating taste into the AI to produce beautiful websites for our customer’s users. This role is hands on and broad — you’ll lead

design system our agents use , while also being the internal point of contact who works with our
brand agency
across our website, pitch decks, social media kits, videos, and physical events. Role scope
Shaping how our product looks and feels Leading UXR sessions, turning user feedback into product feedback seamlessly Designing and prototyping brand new features Reporting directly to the CEO (who currently serves as Voice of the Customer / User), and quickly assuming the mantle of Voice of the Customer / User Working closely with the CEO to develop product vision Working closely with both founders, all engineers, and solutions engineers in weekly sprints to bring our vision to life Working with our brand agency to implement and extend Flint's visual identity across our product and the world Basic Qualifications
3-5 years of professional design experience in product/UI design Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) An eye for great website design, as you will be guiding the AI to produce beautiful websites Strong communication and upwards management skills Comfort collaborating closely and directly with execs and engineers Excitement about working full-time, in-person in San Francisco Preferred Qualifications
Ability to create design systems that scale Experience designing for early-stage startups or small teams Familiarity with AI prototyping tools like v0 You prefer creating prototypes that demonstrate real user flows to relying on static mockups Comfort extending a brand identity Motion/interaction design skills (e.g. prototyping, animations) Experience running end to end UXR sprints - from scheduling with candidates to leading calls, logging feedback, triaging and escalating Appetite for wearing multiple hats and contributing beyond design when needed Extremely competitive salary + equity package 20 PTO days / year A really beautiful office in Jackson Square, SF 2 rooftops, overlooking iconic views (Transamerica Pyramid, Jackson Square) A shower in the office - great for freshening up before/after workouts Unconditional invites to SF’s best AI startup events We explicitly encourage our team to grow and extend their networks.
