The 4200 Complex Cardiovascular Unit serves a diverse patient population recovering from open-heart surgeries, amputations, lung operations, heart attacks and other critical medical concerns. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in ensuring every patient has the best treatment experience possible. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, including every other weekend and 3 holidays per year. Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population. Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately. Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in plans of care, coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate. Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medications, and document. Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to care improvement and participate in quality improvement processes. Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required unit-specific certifications. Minimum qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) on hire or within the first year of hire Preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements
Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium to heavier work requiring lifting and moving of objects as specified. Personal Protective Equipment
