Overview

Clinical track, Open Rank, Department of Neurology, Vascular Neurology at Tulane University School of Medicine. The Department seeks a board eligible/certified vascular neurologist to join the Tulane Stroke Program, a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, within the Tulane Center for Clinical Neuroscience. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and have a clinical practice consisting of outpatient clinic (focus on primary and secondary prevention of stroke), inpatient hospital service (focus on acute stroke care), and telemedicine call. The role includes teaching medical students and residents, mentoring the vascular neurology fellow, expanding the stroke research program in collaboration with the Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery, the Tulane Center for Clinical Neuroscience Research, and the Tulane Brain Institute. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in clinical trials and research, with experience serving as the PI or co-I of externally funded studies and a bibliography of peer-reviewed publications. Responsibilities

Provide outpatient clinic services focusing on stroke prevention (primary and secondary). Deliver inpatient acute stroke care and participate in telemedicine coverage. Teach medical students and residents; mentor the vascular neurology fellow in training. Collaborate to expand the stroke research program with internal departments and affiliated Tulane centers. Engage in clinical trials and research projects; serve as PI or co-I on externally funded studies. Contribute to scholarly activities with peer-reviewed publications.

Qualifications

Board eligible or board certified in vascular neurology. Strong interest in clinical trials and research; experience as PI or co-I preferred. Evidence of scholarly output (peer-reviewed publications).
