About the Role The

Director, Restructuring & Turnaround

serves as the delivery leader on client engagements, owning execution, managing case teams, and contributing to the sales process. This role combines deep financial and operational execution with strong leadership skills to deliver high‑quality client outcomes in restructuring and turnaround contexts. The Director integrates financial analysis with strategic insight, develops actionable recommendations, and builds trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.

In this role, you will oversee all case management processes to ensure deadlines, scope, and deliverables consistently meet CR3 Partners’ quality standards. You will also lead engagement teams – including managers and senior associates – by providing coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback that fosters growth, accountability, and high performance.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagement, managing communication with C‑Suite Executives, board members, bankers, and other stakeholders.

Build and maintain strong client relationships through trust, responsiveness, and effective storytelling.

Provide regular updates to engagement partners, ensuring alignment and transparency through the project lifecycle.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Coach team members on leadership, including accountability, inclusive team practices, and effective communication.

Foster a high‑performance environment through clear direction, feedback, and mentorship.

Project Execution & Oversight

Lead the planning, structuring, and execution of client engagements, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.

Anticipate risks and proactively adjust plans to ensure exceptional results.

Manage upward and downward communication, keeping senior leadership and teams aligned throughout the engagement.

Financial & Technical Expertise

Build, audit, and review complex financial and operational models to ensure accuracy, structure, and efficiency.

Translate financial and operational data into actionable turnaround or restructuring strategies.

Maintain rigor in deliverables, ensuring high‑quality, detail‑oriented work that informs client decision‑making.

Brand & Business Development

Build professional presence and strengthen the firm’s reputation through networking, marketing, and brand‑building activities.

Participate in sales efforts by contributing to pitch development, engagement expansion, and client visibility.

Demonstrate ability to originate and grow small engagements.

Your Credentials

Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, consulting, investment banking, M&A, financial planning, private equity, distressed debt fund, or turnaround industry.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.

Industry certifications preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA).

Strong financial acumen in restructuring, bankruptcy, M&A, and investment banking.

Advanced technical skills in financial modeling, performance improvement, and restructuring strategies.

Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.

Strong client management and storytelling abilities to deliver compelling, data‑driven recommendations.

Proven leadership and team development capabilities, with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to travel frequently to client sites, sometimes on short notice, as required by engagement demands.
