Frontend Developer - Ruby on Rails (Remote) for ArcheSys Inc. This role focuses on developing accessible, responsive, and maintainable user experiences for government services. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software. Base pay range

Full-Stack Feature Development: contribute to the full-stack development of responsive, accessible features, including form flows, data reporting, collections, and user access management. Design System Contribution: contribute to frontend standards and support the development/adoption of the MD Web Design System (MDWDS), primarily via Web Components (Lit). Collaboration & Mentorship: work with engineers, designers, and product managers to refine requirements and deliver value to end users. Quality & Standards: participate in code reviews and uphold maintainability and accessibility standards. Technical Alignment: ensure development aligns with business and project goals through strong technical judgment and clear communication. What You’ll Bring
Required Skills & Experience
Ruby on Rails proficiency with experience in frontend output via ERB templates. Modern frontend skills: JavaScript, modern CSS (Sass/SCSS, CSS-in-JS), and Web Components. Accessibility & responsive design; knowledge of WCAG practices. Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to translate concepts for technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Skills & Experience
4-8 years of professional Rails experience in production. Experience designing/maintaining shared component libraries or design systems used across projects. Familiarity with Lit for Web Components. Experience with government design systems (e.g., USWDS) or static site generators like Eleventy. Strong problem-solving, independent and collaborative work, and agile experience. Passion for building high-quality software. Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree a plus. Technological Proficiency
Experience with AWS and other cloud platforms. Proficiency with modern programming languages and web technologies. Familiarity with Jira, Slack, and Confluence. Experience in healthcare, finance, or government sectors is advantageous. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Sidekiq, and background job processing. Exposure to microservices and DevOps practices; monitoring tools like New Relic or Datadog. Knowledge of GraphQL and API-first development. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Foster open communication with stakeholders; provide regular project updates. Serve as a point of contact between clients, stakeholders, and development teams. Collaborate with product managers, executives, and customers to keep them informed of progress. Personal Attributes

Willingness to continually learn and adapt to evolving technology. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects. All work must be conducted within the U.S., with some federal contracts requiring U.S. citizenship. You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship.
