Overview
Position Overview A leading infrastructure services provider is seeking an experienced Fiber Operations Lead to manage and execute fiber optic operations across regional data center deployments. This role is responsible for end-to-end leadership of splicing, testing, and documentation activities while overseeing multiple field crews in hyperscale and colocation environments. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary technical expert and client-facing representative for mission-critical fiber installations. Key Responsibilities
Direct all fiber optic activities including fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and validation across multiple active sites Supervise and coordinate field teams (5+ technicians), ensuring all safety protocols and quality standards are strictly followed Review, validate, and approve test results, including OTDR traces, loss budgets, and final acceptance documentation Accurately forecast labor, material, and equipment needs across concurrent deployments Serve as the main technical liaison between clients, general contractors, and project managers to ensure scope clarity and on-time delivery Ensure all work complies with industry standards such as ANSI/TIA and BICSI, and stays current with evolving technologies Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of experience in fiber splicing leadership, with strong experience in data center or critical infrastructure projects Advanced knowledge of: Ribbon and loose tube fiber splicing OTDR testing and trace analysis Power meter/light source, CD/PMD, and Tier I & II documentation Familiarity with Viavi platforms and industry standards (TIA/BICSI) is highly preferred OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety credentials are a plus Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality results in fast-paced environments Prior military experience is highly valued and considered a strong asset Why This Role?
